This year’s event will take place on Sunday 14th June and the organisers in Badenoch & Strathspey are welcoming teams old and new and individuals to come to Kingussie to participate in the 26 mile cycle on quiet roads through our beautiful Badenoch scenery. This year the expected 500-600 cyclists will follow the route from Kingussie to Newtonmore, Glenn Truim via Ralia and on Laggan before heading back to Kingussie via Newtonmore.
The Scottish Bikeathon is a social cycle run that people return to year after year from all over Scotland and beyond. Many see it as an opportunity to meet up with old friends, some use it as a personal challenge, while other dress up and have a fun day.
Importantly for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, entrants raise funds to help beat blood cancers. Last year’s event raised over £37,000 and, of course, for our 23rd annual event, we would like to equal or even surpass that total.
If you think you are able to get a team together (family, colleagues, friends etc.) or to cycle on your own we would be delighted to hear from you as soon as possible.
See also the Bikeathon website for more details.
